I have the regular silverstars in mine. They cost $25 or 30. It makes a huge difference, not quite HID, but still good.
The other version is ultra silverstars. They run $60 (well that's what they were the one place I saw them). IMO, this is an easy, cheap and efficient upgrade. |

I have a set of Silverstar Ultras in my Si right now and it's a night and day difference compared to the stock bulbs. They are probably the crispest, brightest, whitest/most blue lights you can get aside from spending money on Xenon or HIDs or what not.
If you search the Lighting forum, I have a few posts regarding it (titled "Someone Must Die", and there are several pictures. They say the Ultras last longer and are brighter. I would have to agree that they are brighter.

I got silverstar ultras for my si a couple weeks ago. They're definitely whiter, but I don't know about brighter. If anything, visibility in the rain is a little bit worse, because the whiter light reflects back more. I'm putting yellow fogs in this weekend, though, so I should be good on visibility.

I've not driven in the rain yet, but they are most certainly brighter during the rainless nights.
Substantially.

well i use to have the regular silverstar. not so impressive because it wasn't so white, still yellow, but bright yellow, really bright. But friend had it in his rx300 and they burnt out pretty quick, maybe it was just the car.
But if you're willing to spead like 90 more just get some cheap HID from ebay, i installed mine today and man do i love it. hahah http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21376 thats the one. good reviews, and cheap too. Much better than silverstar. IMO |
