D.I.Y. - Parrot CK3100 Bluetooth Install
Aight. Sorry this took so long to put together but here it is for the brave of heart that want to try it. Others may want a professional installer to take this on:
(1) First thing is to dismantle your dash and remove the Navi: ![]() (2) After much consideration, the only possible place to mount the LCD screen was in the cubby underneath the climate controls like so: ![]() ![]() (3) Next task is to mount the mic. I chose to mount it on the auto dimming mirror and tuck the wire in with the mirror cable so it would be covered: ![]() ![]() (4) Knowing that I was going to mount the Parrot brain & harness back behind the glovebox, I ran the mic wire down the right side A pillar. That silver tape is pressure sensitive aluminum tape that is used on HVAC ducts. Also good for resealing the plastic sheet inside your door panel: ![]() (5) Here's that god-awful huge harness that you have to snake in there and somehow manage to put away so it doesn't interfere with the glovebox. The 2 plugs on the left are part of the Quick Connect harness while the rest is the Parrot harness with the mute wire. The RAZR is for size comparison: ![]() (6) The gray plug in the middle of the pic is from the QCHon-2 harness and plugs into the Navi. You can just make out the OEM gray plug in the background. You have to snake that part of the harness behind a metal brace and underneath an SRS connector and then feed the QC harness gray plug in front of the same brace or it won't reach the back of the Navi: ![]() (7) Not a very clear picture of the 3.3k ohm - 1/4 watt resistors that I had to wire in so the volume wouldn't blow my eardrums. There's a schematic on how to do this on the Parrotkits.com FAQ page. Navi & Premium sound system owners will have to do this because of the 350 watt downstream amp: ![]() (8) The next two pics are of the final placement of the Parrot brain (blue box) and that big-ass harness. I wrapped electrical tape around the part of the harness that was left after the connections were made and the Navi was reinstalled. I then tie-wrapped the brain to that large cross-brace and then tie-wrapped the tape bundle to the brain. You may have to experiment with placement so the glovebox doesn't hang on it. Pic two is of the remainder of the harness & fuses that feed over to the Navi. Had to tie-wrap the shit out of those so they wouldn't get caught on the back left corner of the glovebox: ![]() ![]() After all's said and done, the LCD screen and mic are the only thing that show: ![]() Sound quality from the mic is OK but not great and I may eventually move it to the driver's sun visor. Certainly was a PITA to install but very much worth it. Enjoy--- Last edited by stevieray; 09-08-2006 at 10:23 AM. |

I'd looked at this same kit for when I get my Civic Hybrid with navi. Thank you very much for the install walkthrough, it was excellent!
The one thing I was considering doing differently, if it doesn't involve a lot more work, is to hide the microphone in the overhead console where the stock navi microphone (I'm guessing) is. Tapping the navi microphone had also occurred to me, but then I realized that would get very messy very quickly. |

Now if I can just isolate the rattling in the driver's side A pillar, I'll be set. |

I installed the Parrot 3200 over New Year's weekend and I put the microphone in the overhead console next to the Nav's microphone. The console is borrowed from the Odyssey and there's an empty spot where the Homelink buttons are in the Odyssey. I cut a hole to mount the mic and mounted the mic with Honda EPI (foam) tape. I also drilled a dozen or so holes to match the Navi's microphone and the result works well.

I'm doing this this weekend, and the only thing I was concerned about was location, but this looks pretty good... Does it interfere with your curtosy lights button? Also, is this removable or does it permenantly stay there? |

Sound Quality
The sound quality is good. It sounds better than some of the headsets I have used. I installed the kit in my car a couple weeks back and is worth the hassle. I also talked to the harness maker and he is going to make the wires longer to help make the install easier.
