stage 2 comptech release info!!

I was at comptech last week asking about the stage 2 with hondata what was the deal? well we all know comptech is shutting down. They do have the pullies there so i bought 2 of the 3.3 pullies and shipped on to COMPlex here on 8th civic. Now the question was, is hondata going to release a program?

I talke to Shad at driving ambitions who helped finish up the 2nd Si comptech did as they threw in the IPS cams and hondata came and did a special flash for that set-up. Shad told me to get the pulley before they are all gone, and wait around about a month or so till hondata releases the flash. Well, Doug from hondata has worked on my car before at comptech so i called him myself.

Dougs exact words, " We love the 06 civic it is huge and has proven itself to be a performance car. I will tell you we are working on a stage 2 program but the civic is very complicated and when you boost more to a motor that has high compression its takes time. I will tell you we are working on one and it WILL be release, i cant tell you a date though because we dont know when. We will not realease a product until we know for sure its not going to cause any problmes for owners of these vehicles thus we we get our great name."

So US SC owners get your pullies and wait around. you will need to purchase bigger injectors.

LOL ok.

I found a few of the comptech's but they were like 4K and I thought that was a little much for a company that was going out of business. If they were like $2500-$2800 then it may have been a good deal.

you can get the kit for like $3500 at some places. as for red shift its not more power. its the same... thats brake hp they show.

and hondata is continuing on the product because they have been doing to testing and tuning for the stage 2 for so long and its almost done, why just throw it out the window

Thanks again for the 3.3" pulley! I heard different, but I also didn't talk to Doug directly. So if in fact it is true, I'm super excited.

Do you know what injectors and what size belt we need? I'm in the process of finding the size of comptech's 3.3" pulley belt part# 357-002.

FYI, the check is in the mail. <3

Please DO NOT post misinformation.

Brake HP: Brake horsepower (bhp) is the measure of an engine's horsepower without the loss in power caused by the gearbox, generator, differential, water pump, and other auxiliary components. Thus the prefix "brake" refers to where the power is measured: at the engine's output shaft, as on an engine dynamometer. The actual horsepower delivered to the driving wheels is less. An engine would have to be retested to obtain a rating in another system. The term "brake" refers to the original use of a band brake to measure torque during the test (which is multiplied by the engine RPM and a scaling constant to give horsepower).

Hub HP: Horsepower measurement at the hubs, without wheels and tires.

Wheel HP: The power that actually makes it to the ground.

So with that said... Lets estimate

My stage 1 Comptech S/C makes approx 230 whp @ 2-5psi
Using about 15% loss factor, that means that I am currently making 264.5 bhp

So yea...

So Stage 1 for both are about the same correct? Stage 1) 260 bhp non-intercooled 5 psi

As I have said our numbers right now are calculations NOT whp numbers.

One main difference between a comptech which uses a roots style blower, our is a Twinscrew, as boost increases our efficeny is greater than the roots allowing for better numbers with stage 2 and stage 3 than any roots style blower.

Basically yes. Your current stage 1 estimates are similar to that of Comptech's stage 1 kit. My main concern was the above poster stating that bhp=whp, which is incorrect.

Now, seeing that your numbers are just estimates based off of calculations, I'm sure those numbers can be more or less depending. I'm looking forward to seeing some actual numbers from your kits though, because I like competition =)

I'm happy with the CTSC, and once stage 2 is in place, I'm sure I'll love it even more.

Problem I'm having now, is that at some point, I will continue to want more and more power. So... who knows what I'll do in the next few years.

So, I may be in contact with you more when stage 3/4 is in development/nearning production.
