VIS Racing Techno R Rear Spoiler

I know I may get flamed for this, but, is carbon fiber paintable?

I know it defeats the purpose but I really hate CF, but love this wing.

I want to make my civic stand out when I receive her

yes the cf is paintable.

for example evo wings are entirely cf but the sides are painted.

Thanks!

also what doesn't make sense, if I tint my windows you wouldn't be able to see the black part of the wing against the window.

ok u lost me? u mean that u wont be able to see it through ur rearview?

cuz ud still see it look at people who own black cars that have wings, they can tell its there in the rearview w tints or not.

Best price I've seen so far is $475; I'm still waiting for some others to order it so I can see it first

Might be awhile before you actually see it though....still trying to figure out if it's getting a repaint or just a couple more clear coats.

Like it was said... CF is paintable. It doesn't defeat the purpose though unless you want to show it off. Painted CF is still lighter than painted sheetmetal.

Is there any special preparation for painting CF?

I guess the body shop would know, but just in case.

No. it's prepped the same way sheetmetal is prepped. They'll most likely sand it down to give a bit of tooth for the paint to adhere to. But nothing special.

skittles' FG2 has been MIA because it's gettin' a crazy do-over. He's been teasing everyone about it for months on end, dropping half-hints (which just whet the appetite more). At this point, his car may be more man than machine.

I think everyone here has a theory as to what skittles' car will look like in the end. I'm still of the belief that it will have a hover-conversion, and a Mr. Fusion. 1.21 Gigawatts!

As far as that wing, I really like it, since it's the Si-Concept style wing. You'll be able to see it through your rearview, especially at night, because people's headlights will be cutting on/off when the spoiler gets in the way of line-of-sight. Anyway, I'd think of getting that wing too, 'cept I might just need a new trunk. That, and when those clear tailights come out.............. mmmmm.....

Ahhhh Izzy, thanks for the info, as skittles would have been teasing me for years to come.

I have mega plans for my Civic. I'm not all talk either, my old 89 Si was a very fast and clean car with an old skool DOHC ZC (with lots of mods, cams, gears, headers, up to 160 whp)

Man, I just can't wait enough for March. It's coming too slow, but good things happen to those who wait, right?

That wing is what I want, unfortunately not the CF. But maybe I'll change my mind. Who knows. I would hve to buy these parts before I get my car, otherwise I woulnd't be able to afford them once I have my payments and insurance skyrocket.

TTYL peoples.
